It is designed to operate with a compression load, so the spring gets shorter as the load is applied to it.

Wire forms have infinite uses and a wide variety of shapes and sizes. These forms can be a load bearing link with minimal deflection.

In other cases they can be used as a holder applying a spring tension where a static load is required.

Uunlike the above types in which the load is an axial force, the load applied to a torsion spring is a torque or twisting force, and the end of the spring rotates through an angle as the load is applied.

Flat Compression Springs are fairly similar to compression springs in its design and function, and are mainly used in tools for plastic injection molding, punching, casting etc. In other words, they are used where long service life in tougher conditions is needed.

They are used in objects where there the spring has limited space for work. Depending on how tightly the threads are, the Flat Compression Springs have an ability to withstand stress and pressure vary.

Flat Compression Springs could have a square, rectangle, oblong and diamond threads instead of round threads.
